Mechanical Engineer
The mechanical Engineer graduate works in the Mechanical and Electrical Asset Management team, which is responsible for the management of the mechanical and electrical assets within Melbourne Water's pumping stations, treatment plants and reservoirs.
The Mechanical and Electrical Asset Management Team is also responsible for the replacement of Melbourne Water's mechanical and electrical assets within its pumping stations, treatment plants and dams. As a team they are required to justify the replacement of assets based on energy savings, operational, environmental and/or health and safety risks. This team also works with operators and maintenance people at Melbourne Water to determine the root cause of engineering problems with new and existing assets as discovered in use.
The functions of this team are critical to ensure that essential public services such as wastewater and water treatment continue to work effectively, efficiently and reliably.
