More Recycled Water
Melbourne already recycles more water across all uses than any other city in Australia.
Plans are underway to upgrade our Eastern Treatment Plant, which handles about 40% of Melbourne's sewage. The upgrade will reduce the impact of treated effluent discharged into the marine environment but it will also open the door to more recycling over time.
The upgrade remains on schedule for completion by end-2012.
