Rainfall Data 1 Dec 2011 - 31 Dec 2011
Melbourne Water collects rainfall data using electronic rain gauges installed around Melbourne suburbs.
These rain gauges send a radio signal to our Brooklyn and Preston offices when rain is detected. The amount of rainfall and the time is recorded for each site. The rain collects in a 'check bottle' installed in the rain gauge, and manual readings are taken at regular intervals to ensure data from the electronic rain gauges is accurate.
